The mainland food industry has see repeated "waterloos" as industrial tycoons like Quanjude,
Ronghua Chicken, Goubuli, and Honggaoliang Wine met setbacks in Cities of Shenzhen, Beijing, Hangzhou respectively. Meanwhile, foreign fast food suppliers have seen stable and successful growth in Chinese market. The fall of Chinese fast-food industry and the rise of its counterpart has aroused our sincere concerns. While deep-rooted problems fettering the development of Chinese fast-food industry still need to be removed, most practioners in this industry are still running at low profit margins with slumbering developments. All these problems boil down to the lack of standardization in management, whicl in the end resulted in the lack of standardization in products and service performances. Custermers were lost, and the growth of mainland fast-food practitioners were confined.
Focusing on the Chinese fast-food industry, the article will propose methods to solve the dilemma of "standardization", and tragical situations like "no clear division between dining and cooking areas in restaurants", or "a flash in the pan"restaurants, which have happened more than enough. At last, suggestion will be given as how to make the Chinese fast-food industry profitable.
