这道题的正确答案是C,但是Gmat考试中不是要遵循平行并列原则吗?前面的making ignition和后面的causing flames to spread根本就不平行呀.先不说ignition是抽象名词,而flame是具体名词,前面是v+n后面v+n+to do根本就不对称呢~

关于简洁这点.当然不是任何时候都选最简洁的.不然SC只需要选最短的答案就解决了.只有当两个选项的意思几乎相同的时候才考虑简洁.
什么抽象名词具体名词,考场上一道SC的时间大概是1分钟多一点,因为必须留更多的时间给CR和RC.1分钟多一点的时间读完题你自问一下你是否还有能力做到面面俱到的语法分析.如果不行,那么有两条路,一是你苦练一直练到你达到这个能力再去考试；二是另寻他径.如果SC真的考的是语法,那中国学生应该战无不胜.没有任何一个非英语母语国家学生的语法有中国学生牛逼,这是事实.
最后,如果d选项是causing flames which could to spread的话,打死都选e.因为e即使说的很绕,至少比d好.脱离了句意,语法没有任何意义.
