Of course,this independence that was given to the special prosecutor actually was but an echo of public demand,and if I may be permitted to say so,it was the only basis on which,after what had occurred and a predecessor had been discharged,it was the only basis on which the special prosecutor could have felt that he could come in and serve and undertake to perform these functions.
