San Francisco – Specialty retailer Design Within Reach is spotlighting a range of green goods for Earth Day,including some home textiles products.
“We are pleased to introduce an assortment of well-designed,environmentally conscious products," said Ray Brunner,ceo.“By combining form,function and intelligent use of natural,renewable and recycled materials,these new products epitomize the principles of modern design.”
The Be Well Collection of natural and organic bedding is designed by biologist Mary Cordaro.It features a mattress covered in organic cotton and Pure Grow Wool,an undyed product derived from domestic sheep grazing in pesticide-free pastures.The collection also includes a line of pillows and mattress protectors.
Maine-based Angela Adams has provided a line of hand-tufted 100% wool area rugs with 100% cotton monk's cloth backings attached using a natural rubber latex adhesive.The line is offered in Ocean,Birch,Fern,Grace and Islands palettes.
Adams is a member of Rugmark,which ensures that her India-made rugs are manufactured in a socially responsible manner.
