Make up和 make up for的区别
它们都是弥补.我查了说make up是补做误了的事情 make up for是用某物去补某物
但是在某书上我看到此句we'd better make up for the lost time.(我们最好是弥补一下失去的时间).
这个句子用上面那个解释.就不通啊.希望哪位高手能帮忙解释一下.万分感激!

你好,make up 和make up for 都有弥补的意思.
区别在于：make up 表示弥补耽误了的事或补上、凑齐某事物
make up for 表示用其他方式来进行弥补、使平衡（弥补因过去某些原因而耽误的时间或对某人的亏欠）.
所以不仅仅是说“用某物去弥补某物”.
另外,make up 除了弥补还有“编造,化装, 打扮,铺床, 整理 ,组成, 构成 ”的意思.
例如：Tom makes up stories to amuse his little brother.
汤姆编故事逗他的小弟弟.
It didn't take her long to make up.
她很快就化妆好了.
