再答： 第二题中，上文bird embryo是鸟胚胎的意思，所以下文不可能是指它的幼崽。 第四题中，than是一个比较连词，本应该连接的是句子，而在实际应用中，than后面的分句大都用了省略手法，所以给人感觉似乎than后面只加比较对象，其实不是的，像he is taller than he used to be ；That is more than the workers could stand .都是对的。就这道题而言，抛开文章的内容，单就语法角度来说A，D 都可以和than 连接。但是A和D的意思不同，需要看文章的意思。我举个例子：The weather in Beijing is colder than that in Guangzhou. The weather in Beijing is warmer than it was two years ago. 也就是说，that （those）仅仅是代替了上文the weather 这两个词， 但含义不同。 若答案选a , 就仅是指 “名称”相同，但是代表的东西不同。
再问： 第二题懂了，谢谢！ 第四题是IS题啊，没有文章可以看的话怎么判断呢？ 还有，C为什么不行呢？in england的状态不应该在“were lighter”之前吗？过完为什么不对呢？
