主要论著有《英汉/汉英可译性问题探索》、《汉语歇后语翻译的理论与实践》、《当代美国翻译理论》、《文化与翻译》等；主要译著有美国文学名著《杀鹿人》（合译）、英国文学名著《鲁滨逊飘流记》、当代美国文学名著《铁草》（合译）等,并翻译和主编“外国科幻小说译丛”（50余册）和《科幻之路》（6卷）,获1991年世界科幻小说协会颁发的恰佩克翻译奖和1997年北京国际科幻大会科幻小说翻译奖———“金桥奖”.
