Three months ago,I visited two vacant flats to see if they might be of use to the college for students in the next academic year.The first property was at 5 Camden Terrace and the second at 22 Norton Street.The Camden Terrace flat was on the second floor of a three-storeyed house and had two bedrooms ,kitchen,small living room and bathroom.The Norton Street property was a very large four-storeyed house which had been converted into six separated apartments.The one I inspected was at the top of the house,and had one room fewer than the Camden Terrace flat.It was newly decorated and looked very nice,much better in fact than the bigger flat which I would only call fair.
Both have gas central heating which is not included in the rent.The second floor flat at £250 per month was £50 cheaper than the onr on the top floor ,but as I have said,it was not in such good condition.However,it is available for a full calender year whereas the Norton Street flat only has a six-month let.
I recommend both properties as being satisfactory for our accommodation register.
