Purification of solution prepared by leaching spent battery material
With shortage of raw resources and constraints of circumstance protection,it is more and more important to recycle nickel,cobalt and manganese from spent battery material.This work introduces a method of recovery of Ni,Co and Mn from polymetalic solution which is characterized by medium to high concentration of residual hydrochloric acid and heavy metals such Cu,Ni,Co,Mn,Fe and prepared by leaching spent battery material.The basic concept includes copper is removed through replacement by iron powder followed by iron precipitation in goethite method.The results show that Cu can be removed 99% at least through replacement by Fe powder,and the removal of Fe can achieve 99% by goethite method.At the same time ,the loss of Ni,Co and Mn are about 2%,3% and 2%,respectively.The optimun Cu removal conditions are :T=50℃,Fe mol/Cu mol =1.5,reaction time =30 min.The optimum Fe removal conditions are :precipitation terminal pH =4,T=90℃,reaction time =6 h.This method can be economic to prepare pure solution for preparation of NixCoyMnz ternary system precursor.
