(52)The current level of coal reserves knowledge is presented indicating the deposits considered recoverable.When compared with the total coal demand it can be shown that there are sufficient reserves in the Waikato region for a 1000MW power station.The report explains an investigation for the total coal required for this station would be 60 Mt to be supplied over a period of 40 years and that new station was to be built in two 500 MW stages.The report is a feasibility report of the coal requirements of the Waikato area and how to supply those consumers.
