20世纪90年代以来,尤其是入世后在对外开放的推动下,经过10多年的发展,中国零售业走完了国外零售业150年的商业历程,西方发达国家历经8次零售革命形成的20余种业态几乎全部在我国出现.零售业在中国的快速发展让我们着实欣喜,但是有喜必有忧,这种迅速的扩张不见得都是好事,国内有专家认为,我国零售业的整体发展水平与发达国家相比,差距在50年左右.即我国当前零售业的经营理念、管理模式、营销方式及服务水平等方面只相当于发达国家二次世界大战后初期的水平.另外,外资的抢滩登陆,内资盲目扩张,强势的外资与外强中干的内资形成了鲜明的对比.快速的发展又伴随诸多的问题和挑战：我国零售业自身存在的问题、竞争的问题；外资侵占带来的挑战等等.如今,市场格局的变化,零售业态的推陈出新,市场竞争的日益加剧,零售业全面进入微利时代,我行我素将面临着生存危机,逃避现实和放弃竞争也非明智之举.
所以,本文旨在清楚认识我国零售业的发展现状,找到我国零售业具备的优势和存在的不足,总结国内外零售业的发展趋势和零售市场格局演变的规律,借鉴国外零售业成功案例,找到我国零售业稳固可持续发展的相应和可行的对策.
