1.There is a flaw in the present school policy about pupil’s ranking.I know this tradition had already been carried on for a very long time.No doubt about it that this system would be good for those pupils who were on the top of the ranking.They will certainly work harder to maintain their levels or even want to surpass their rivals.To which it creates a more competitive drive for these lots.But what about those didn’t do too well?What is the harm that this could possibly do to them then?
This time of the year,high or middle school students are busy preparing for their exams.It is particularly frustrating time for those in their final year of middle or high school,because it matters a lot whether they do well or not,and their future depend the results.My school had just published the results from our mock tests (exams).To me I am quite satisfied with my scores.But some classmates were feeling disappointed and in despair.To this I feel that the school ranking system is kind of harming some students' confidence.They soon would give up once that they saw their rankings,seriously damaging their self believes.Lead to their poor state of mind to face the actual high school exams.Therefore,I suggest that school should just publish the scores but not the rankings.Let students have a better state of mind to go forward and face their forthcoming exams.Prepare for the exams are hard enough,there is no room for more pressure putting on them.I seriously hope that this school ranking policy would one day be abolished.
2.There are always some issues with people’s behaviours.Since everyone born differently,from different families and different backgrounds,no one is the same.But culture plays an important role,a country or a nation’s historical cultural trend usually has great impact on its people.A peaceful and civilised country,its people would be more kind and more concern about their neighbours and those people in next country to them.Of course this seemed impossible in the old days,when countries next to each other were fighting to the death for their own survival.But now,the world is a much friendlier place to live than ever before.I am not saying that there are no more wars between neighbouring countries,but much less and those developed and civilised ones now have practically formed a kind of friendly community,at least financially.The WTO is bringing the markets of the world into a one big single market,which all countries of the world can cross trade with each other.Certainly there are always some squabbling between some of them over benefit issues,which are unavoidable and that are only individual cases,comparing with those old days,these seem impossible.In the same time following the close relationship between the world’s population,Charities organizations were formed from many countries which were not just helping their own countries’ needs but worldwide assistance,wherever and whenever there is a disaster.
Recently,Japan had been struck by several disasters.I read a few comments in the internet,some were good but some were not so good.True,Japan did do a great harm to us China in the last world war,but that was the past and we are talking about human life here,which can't be classified,every single life should be respected.We Chinese like to gloat over something or someone,to make a mock of the others,these are Chinese style sadness.Let us hope that from now on every one of us can be more sensible towards the others,and pray for every life’s safety whether great or small!Look forward to build a united new world.
3.Custom is a product from many generations of a country or its people,a cultural life which can be enjoyed and inherited.That is not just affecting the intangible standard of our way of living.It can also be a drive to develop folk and traditional tourism too.It creates the business of food and drink,transportation and shopping,bringing in a large number of foreign visitors,which will benefit our economy.But at the same time of developing folk and traditional business,a balance must be found and more attention must be paid to the relationships between custom and economy.Should not try to be too radical which might harm or destroy the tradition as a result.A more moderate approach should be adopted which would be the best choice.The government should play an important role in promoting the attraction to help to draw in more visitors and in the same time help to protect the environment from being damaged by the extra traffics and extra people,so that a folk and traditional economic function can be achieved.
