悲剧是戏剧的一个体裁,是世界文学发展长河中重要的一个瑰宝,其经典题材多是男女相恋却不能结合,英雄的悲壮人生,家庭破碎,社会问题和国家覆灭等.中国有着五千年悠久的文明史,其悲剧在世界文学宝库中也占有重要的地位.而在世界悲剧的发展中莎士比亚和关汉卿是两位最具代表性的人物.《哈姆雷特》和《窦娥冤》分别是莎士比亚和关汉卿的悲剧代表作,是众多悲剧中的经典剧作,他们是西方与中国悲剧精神差异的典型代表.这两部悲剧藏着不同的矛盾主线,从而引发了不同的悲剧结局.《哈姆雷特》中,基督式的罪与罚,救赎与救世的矛盾构成了哈姆雷特悲剧的内因；而在《窦娥冤》中,窦娥所恪守捍卫的中国封建礼教和各种伦理道德力量之间的矛盾冲突形成了窦娥悲剧的思想根源.这两种不同的指导思想导致了中西方古典悲剧在创作中存在着不同的主人公性格、不同的悲剧冲突、不同的悲剧结局、及不同的情节安排.通过对比分析,我们将学习和了解中西方悲剧作品的差异.
