When Japanese speak English, they sound really bad. The reason for Japanese's very strange announciation of English has nothing to do with race, intelligence or anything else. It's caused by Japanese, their own language, totally. Like 'Thank you', it has 4 syllable in Japanese. And when they speak English they are used to cutting a single word into many independent syllables, thus often making jokes of themselves.
For example, former Japanese prime minister もり よしろう was gonna to meet former American president Clinton and told his interpretator to teach him some commonly used English phrases for their meeting. The interpretator said'When you meet you speak 'How are you?' first, president Clinton will answer ’Fine, thank you. And you?‘. Then you're supposed to say 'Me too'. That's all' However, when もり よしろう saw Clinton, he was so nervous that he mispronounced 'How are you?' as 'Who are you?'. Clinton was shocked to hear this and he thought;' How could he forget who I am? Maybe he was just kidding.' So he answered kiddingly: ' I'm husband of Hillary.' Of course もり よしろう failed to understand what Clint said and he just said: ' Me too' like he was told to do so previously.
If you want to see how a Japanese makes joke of himself in this aspect, I'll tell you this trick: you may take him to sing karaoke and choose an English song for him. Supposing the song has one hundred syllables totally, but the Japanese can cut them into at least three hundred ones. So when the song has finished the Japanese guy may have just finished one third of it.
