In China ,Baidu is really the most popular seraching engine .The amount of Baidu users defeats other searching engine such as Google and Yahoo.
Why is Baidu so popular among Chinese people?There are many reasons.First,the name of the website is of great advantage.When I was in middle school ,I remembered the name at the first sight."Baidu"comes from the famous Chinese line "众里寻他千百度" written by the great ancient China poet Xin QIji.It means that no matter what the informatian is ,Baidu will help you find it within one or two seconds.And what Baidu has done lives up to its promise.We can find all kinds of information and sources only by typing the keywords then pressing the enter button.
Now the company has developed many other services such as Baidu know,Baidu encyclopedia and Baidu post bar.To be objective ,Baidu is a good tool for all students ,workers and businessmen.But on the other hand ,as Baidu company develops,many problems come about .Somebody used to say that now Baidu is like a strange patient ,he pay much attention to making money instead of how long himself can survive .But he doesn't spend the money on treating his disease ,and it seems that he will never stop to consult a doctor.Although the information and advertisements are abundant,they are not been well chosen .What is worse ,some of them are misleading.In this aspect,Baidu should take responsibilities to regular the things it provides.For examole ,as an English major ,when I go to Baidu for help I always can't find my satisfactory answer,then I have to go to Google .It implies that Baidu should improve its service and be more comoetitive .
I hope Baidu will see clearly about the reality and reform its disadvantages .Only in this way,it will go further.
