A:Give me some glasses please,Jane.(请给我几只玻璃杯,Jane)
B:Which glasses?These glasses?(哪几只?是这几只吗?)
A:NO,not those.the ones on the shelf.(不,不是那几只,是架子上的那几只)
这里我有疑问：
1、A的最后一句回答:not those能不能说成:not ones或not those ones?还有
the ones on the shelf能不能说成the ones on shelf把shelf前面的the去掉?请说一下原因
2、the ones on the shelf.（是架子上的那几只）这个句子为什么从on the shelf先翻译,而不从the ones 先翻译?能不能说成：那几只是在架子上?请说一下原因,

1.不能说成not ones 因为ones是非限定性的名词,而对话中的ones有明显的指定意义.可以说成not those ones,因为those是有指定意义的代词.一般来说,名词的出现一定要用单数或复数的形式前面加a/an/the,或者后面加s/es,on the shelf是很明显的位置状语搭配,介词+名词,所以the不能省.
2.不能.the ones是中心词on the shelf是介词短语修饰the ones,与中文的排列方式有些不同.
