希望解释一下1中viewed为什么不能用viewing,2中的seated不能用seating,

第二句
seat 这个词是及物动词,seat oneself.
若没有宾语则用被动.
比如：
please seat yourselves
please be seated
句中无宾语,故被动.
如果变成 seating himself也是行得通的.
