《The Cop and the Anthem》book
It was winter,the weather was very cold.The leaves began to fall.Soapy was a tramp.He had no house and has no money.For the past several winters,the prison on Blackwell's Island has been Soapy's home.So Soapy made plans to move into Blackwell Prison.
The first time,he wanted to eat a fabulous meal at an expensive restaurant and then announce he could not pay.But as soon as he set foot inside the door,the head waiter looked at him suspicionsly.Suddenly,Soapy felt the strong hands of several waiters on his shoulders and back,he was quietly and quickly turned around and pushed back outside.
The second time,Soapy picked up a stone and throw it through the glass of a store.But when the policeman came,he
didn't think it was did by Soapy.
Like these,everytime he can't catched by the policeman.
But at last,when he had hope,he wanted to find a job,he came in the prison because he was under arrest for loitering.

A policeman made his rounds up the avenue.About halfway down one block,the policeman suddenly slowed his pace.In a doorway of a dark entrance to a hardware store,a man leaned.He chatted up with him.The name of the man was Bob.
He was waiting for another man named Jimmy.They were best friend when they were young.When Bob was 18 and Jimmy was 20,Bob was to go out to the West to make his fortune.So they agreed that night that they would meet here again exactly twenty years from that date and time.
Then the policeman left.
About twenty minutes he waited,a man appeared.He said he was Jimmy.Bob was excited.They chated for a while,and then Bob has been arrested.Because he was a bad man.He was wanted by Chicago police.But the unexpected was,Jimmy was the police on the street.
